History

This medal may have been instituted by the Communist "Derg" government. It was conferred in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Ethiopian victory over Italy.

The obverse of the suspension bar features an inscription in Amharic, translated as "Unforgettable Achievement", and it is dated "1933" (Ethiopian calendar).
