History

This medal is awarded to recognize 20 years of service within the RCMP.

There are additional bars conferred to reward additional periods of service. A Bronze Bar with one star for 25 years, a Silver Bar with two stars for 30 years, a Gold Bar with three stars for 35 years, and a Gold and Silver Bar with four stars for 40 years.

The only war worn is the Gold and Silver Bar with four stars for 40 years.
