The Medal for Naval Technical Merit (Medalla al Mérito Técnico Naval) was established in Mexico by law on December 17, 1945. It was awarded to the navy noncombat personnel for meritorious actions during the performance of their duties.
The Medal was authorized with two grades, I Class Medal and II Class Medal. It is not clear if the grade denotes the rank of the recipient.
The obverse inscription translates to "Naval Technical Merit," and the reverse inscription translates to "Created by Law of 17th December, 1945."
