History


The Medal for North American Invasion 1847 (Medalla de la Invasión Norteamericana) was authorized by the Mexican government in 1847, in recognition of the troops who fought in the northern front against American invading forces in 1847.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "He Fought in Defense of the Fatherland," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "To Merit in 1847."
