History

The Bombing Aviator Badge (issued during the First World War) was redesignated as the Bombardier Badge in June 1942. The Bombardier Badge was issued during and shortly after the Second World War to Officers and enlisted men who served as military bombardiers upon the completion of basic flight training and advanced bomber instruction. The Bombardier Badge became obsolete in 1949, however, the Navigator Badge continued to be awarded in place of the Bombardier Badge.

There are multiple versions of the Bombardier Wings which vary by composition.
