This medal was awarded in commemoration of the death of Princess Marie Louise in January 31, 1899.

The obverse inscription translates to "Boris Prince of Tirnovo, Royal Highness and Heir to the Throne."

The reverse inscription translates to "Died on January 19, 1899," "May the Lord have Mercy on Her," and "Maria Louisa, Unforgettable First Bulgarian Princess."

The medal is stamped by D.Nikolov and P. Laurentiev.
