Medal in bronze and fire gilded, 36.6mm, but of typical WW1 period French manufacture (maker is unknown), in near mint condition, rare.
This medal was instituted by Prince Bishop Petar II Petrović-Njegoš as the first Montenegrin medal. It was conferred in recognition of gallantry during conflict. It was awarded until 1919.
The Type IV medals were manufactured by the Arthus Bertrand, Paris and an unknown mint.
The Bravery Medals produced throughout WWI by French Mints feature ball-shaped suspensions.
