History

The Decoration for Merit to Forestry and Wood Industry was established by the Council of Ministers in 1974. It was awarded by the Ministry of Forestry and Wood Industry to employees of the forestry industry for meritorious service. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar award was established by the Republic of Poland in 1997.

The Silver Decoration features an obverse inscription that translates to "Merit to the Forestry and Wood Industry."
