History

The Decoration for Meritorious Social Workers was established by the Council of Ministers in 1966. It was awarded by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare to social workers for meritorious service including initiative, outstanding contributions to the field, and the improvement of health and safety conditions. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.

The Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Meritorious Social Worker."
