History

The Decoration for Meritorious Tourism Activists was established by the Council of Ministers in 1960 and amended in 1971. It was awarded to Polish citizens in recognition of meritorious service to tourism in Poland. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar award was established by the Republic of Poland in 1998.

The I Class Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Meritorious Tourism Activist."
