It is uncertain if the Meritorious Inventor Decoration was officially discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime, or if it merely fell out of use before a similar award was introduced in 1995.

History

The Meritorious Inventor Decoration was established by the Council of Ministers in 1979. It was awarded to Polish citizens, organisations, institutions and foreigners in recognition of inventions and contributions to technology that improved economic output, as well as in recognition of efforts to promote and foster inventions and innovation. It was discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989, but a similar award was established in the Republic of Poland in 1995.

The Gold Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Merit, For Inventiveness and Efficiency.”

The pictures are attributed to eMedals. The picture is cropped.
