Star of the Order, in silver consisting of a five-pointed rayed star, depicting three gilded rays in each quadrant, obverse centre featuring a white heraldic rose on a blue enameled background, surrounded by the inscription ISANMAAN NYVAKSI, reverse with vertical pinback, hallmarked by Helsinki city mark, from 1919, “813H” (813 Hopea = Silver), together with the “National Crown” hallmark, maker’s mark of Viktor Lindman, measuring 77.70 mm (w) x 77.68 mm (h), heavily toned silver, remains good/fine.
The Order was established by Baron Mannerheim as an award to recognize foreign and Finnish military personnel and civilians for outstanding service to Finland.
