History

The Long and Faithful Service Cross was founded by Duke Friedrich I on April 17, 1894. On April 18, 1894, Duchess Antoinette issued the official regulations. The cross was conferred upon female maidservants who worked uninterruptedly for a single family over the course of many years. In order to qualify for the award, a maidservant had to be a citizen of Anhalt and had to have demonstrated impeccable moral leadership throughout their career. The cross was confirmed with a certificate.

The Silver Cross was awarded for 25 years of service. The Cross would be worn around the neck.

On the Silver Cross, the crown is always in gilt.
