History

The Fire Brigade Long Service Bar was established under the order of Grand Duke Friedrich I on December 21, 1877. It was conferred upon members of voluntary fire departments who distinguished themselves during 25 years of service.

In order to receive the award, the recipient had to have performed uninterrupted service with the fire department. However, absence due to military service was acceptable.
