Physical Description


A rectangular bar constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse bears a central Bavarian coat of arms. Below is a firefighter's helmet with crossed axes and ladders. With the inscription "XXV JAHRE DIENSTZEIT" (25 years of service). On a light blue and white striped ribbon bar.

History


The Fire Fighter’s Long Service Clasp was established on June 24, 1884 by King Ludwig II. In was conferred upon individuals in recognition of 25 years of loyal and exemplary voluntary fire service. The clasp was awarded with a certificate and did not have to be returned after the recipient's death. This clasp was discontinued after 1918.
