History

The Carl Anton Commemorative Medal was instituted by Prince Wilhelm of Hohenzollern on September 7, 1911, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his grandfather Prince Carl Anton’s birthday.

The Bronze Medal was conferred upon low-ranking civil servants, nuns, non-commissioned officers, and educators, all of whom served under Prince Carl Anton. It was also conferred upon associations that Prince Anton had been the protector of.
