The Commemorative Medal for Rescue from Danger is originally named "Erinnerungsmedaille für Rettung aus Gefahr der Republik Preußen".

The obverse of the medal features a central Prussian eagle circumscribed by an inscription of REPUBLIK PREUSSEN.

The reverse features the inscription “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (for rescue from danger) inside of an oak leaf wreath.
