History

The Silver Wedding Decoration, 1906 was instituted by King Wilhelm II to commemorate his silver wedding anniversary. The celebration of his silver wedding anniversary took place on February 27th, 1906.

It was awarded to the veterans of the 1st Foot Guards, 2nd Company who had served for a minimum of 25 years.

The decoration's ribbon corresponded to the last award conferred upon the individual veteran recipient. If they had not received any other decorations, the ribbon would be white. It was worn on the left side of the chest. Lost copies were not replaced and the decoration was non-returnable.
