Physical Description and Item Details


A rectangular pebbled clasp with a raised smooth border, constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse centre features the crowned monogram ā€˜Eā€™ with a sprig of oak leaves on each side. The reverse features a horizontal pinback. On a ribbon bar, the ribbon is green with narrow yellow side stripes.

History


The Military Long Service Decoration was originally founded by Duke Ernst II to reward the long and faithful service of officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted men in the military.

The bars were awarded to non-commissioned officers and enlisted men.
