A rectangular pebbled clasp with a raised smooth double edge, constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse features the monogram ‘B.H.Z.S.M.’ (Bernhard Herzog zu Sachsen-Meiningen). The reverse features a horizontal pinback. On a ribbon bar.
The Military Long Service Decoration was jointly instituted on August 31, 1913 in the duchies of Saxe-Altenburg, Saxe-Meiningen, and Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
The decoration was conferred upon non-commissioned officers and enlisted men of the 8th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 153 and the 6th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 95 who rendered numerous years of distinguished service.
The I Class Bar for 24 Years was conferred upon non-commissioned officers and enlisted men.
The decorations were no longer awarded after Saxe-Meiningen joined the North-German Confederation in 1867.
