History

The Freikorps Epp Staff Company Commemorative Medal was instituted in early 1921 for the second anniversary of the founding of the staff company of Freikorps Epp. On the same date, April 18, 1921 the Freikorps was renamed Bayerisches Schützenkorps (Bavarian rifle corps).

No further information about the institution of the award is known.

The award is in the form of a vertically oval medal made of lightly bronzed copper. The obverse features a naked warrior with sword and shield, and "1921" at the bottom.
The reverse features the inscription "2 JAHRE STABSKOMPANIE EPP GEGRÜNDET 18.IV.19" (2 years staff company epp instituted April 18, 1919) with "Epp" in the form of large cursive centrepiece.
