History

Freikorps Schulz was established on December 13, 1918. On July 28, 1919 it merged with Freikorps von Pfeffer into Reichswehr-Infanterie-Regiment Schulz. It was taken into the Reichswehr, the Weimar Republic army, on May 28, 1920 as 2nd battalion of Reichswehr-Infanterie-Regiment 110, at which point the Freikorps ceased to exist.

Around the time of the Freikorps' end, its commander, Major Schulz, instituted a commemorative badge. Further information about the institution is not known.

The award is in the form of a cross made of silvered brass. The edges are smooth while the cross arms are pebbled. The centre is made of a silver circle containing a blue enamelled background with two crossed gilt oak leaves with two acorns.
