Luxembourg, Grand Duchy. A Long Service Cross for NCOs and Enlisted Men, Bronze Grade for Ten Years' Service
(Croix de Service). Instituted in 1850. In bronze with gilt highlights, measuring 31.5 mm (w) x 35.2 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, reddish residue evident on both sides, original ribbon exhibiting glue residue from previous board mounting, near extremely fine.
The Service Cross for Military Personnel was established by Grand Ducal Decree on February 22, 1850. It is awarded to military personnel for long and meritorious service.
All decorations must be returned upon promotion to a higher grade.
There are two versions of the III Class Cross (for Non-Commissioned Officers and Soldiers, for 10 Years) that vary in size and manufacturer.
