History

The Naval Engineer Officer Long Service Decoration was established by Royal Decree in 1905, but it was discontinued in 1949. It was awarded to Officers in the Navy Steamship Service.

Every recipient was first awarded the Silver Cross (for 15 Years) and could upgrade their decorations at their own expense for every additional 5 years of service.

The Naval Engineer Officer Long Service Decoration is identical to Type II of the Militia Officers Long Service Decoration, except for the ribbon. This ribbon has blue, orange, and white stripes.
