This medal was awarded to non-commissioned officers and enlisted men for "committing to acts of bravery during wartime".

The obverse inscription translates to "BY THE GRACE OF GOD NICHOLAS II EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIAS" and the reverse translates to "FOR BRAVERY 2ND CLASS".
