The Charles I Coronation Medal was instituted in 1633 for King Charles I Scottish Coronation on June 18th, 1633, in Edinburgh. The Medal was issued in both Gold and Silver. Gold Medals were presented to members of the royal family, while Silver Medals were thrown to members of parliament, judges, and esteemed servants of the royal family who were seated in the front row during the Coronation ceremony. It is estimated that 3 Medals were awarded.
The Medal features the reverse Latin inscription that translates to "From this our Roses Abound" or "Hence have our Roses Grown."
