History


The Charles II Coronation Medal was instituted in 1651 to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles II in Scotland on January 1, 1951. King Charle's II Scottish Coronation was the last Coronation on Scottish soil. The Medal was issued in both Gold and Silver. Gold Medals were presented to members of the royal family while Silver Medals were given to members of parliament, judges, and esteemed servants of the royal family.

The Medal features a reverse inscription in Latin that translates to "No One Provokes me with Impunity."
