A Luftwaffe Honour Award for Technical Achievement in the Southern Command - Blackened metal, maker marked with the "LAUCHAMMER" insignia on the reverse, illustrating a Luftwaffe eagle insignia overlaying a map of the Mediterranean area, inscribed "FÜR HERVORRAGENDE TECHNISCHE LEISTUNGEN IM SÜDEN" (For Excellent Technical Service in the South) and "GENERALFELDMARSCHALL OBERBEFEHLSHABER SÜD" (General Field Marshal, South Commander) below, with the General Field Marshal's signature between the inscriptions, tagged "H" above "SCH" above a "T" at the bottom, raised border, 149 mm x 187 mm, horizontal loop welded to the reverse for wall hanging, contact evident with traces of paint loss on some raised portions on both sides, near extremely fine.
