History


The Order of Merit (Nishan-i-Liaqat) was established during the reign of Reza Shah the great in the Pahlavi dynasty in 1937. The Order is believed to be issued in 3 Classes in both a civil and military division. The Order was abolished following the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

There may be associated Medals with the Order, but more research is needed to confirm.

The II Class Medal is composed of a silver-coloured base metal.

A variety of ribbon clasp designs may also have been authorized for wear with the Decorations of the Order, but more research is needed.
