The Order of King Faisal was instituted by King Khalid and crown prince Fahad by Royal Decree in 1976, shortly after the assassination of King Faisal. The Order is conferred in 5 Classes in recognition of significant and exceptional services provided to the state or organizations. Personnel who have endured great sacrifices may also be eligible for the award of the Order.

The II Class is worn from a Neck Ribbon.

The II Class Badger features an Arabic inscription on the obverse which translates to "Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Pioneer of Islamic Solidarity."
