Award medal for the Peace with Sweden, 1790. Silver, octagonal. By C. Leberecht. Bit 349 (R1), Diakov 221.8 (R2), Sm 316/a. Laureate bust, retrograde maker’ssignature on truncation, within oval frame, laurel and oak branches crossed below /For Service and Bravery legend within laurel wreath, “Peace with Sweden” legend below.
This medal was established during the reign of Catherine the Great to commemorate the signing of the Peace Treaty with Sweden in 1790.
It was conferred in recognition of service in the war against Sweden between the years of 1788 and 1790.
The reverse inscription translates to: "For Service and Bravery" and "Peace with Sweden Concluded 3 August 1790".
