This medal was conferred in recognition of shock labour that accomplishes a number of results. It was awarded to workers, national economy specialists, scientific workers, cultural workers, educators, health care workers, and other USSR citizens.

Variation I has "No" before the serial number and variation II does not.

Serial numbers for both medals range from roughly 32000-68000. Some variation II medals may not have a serial number.

The obverse Russian inscription translates to: "For Valiant Labour". The obverse also features the Russian letters for the USSR. The reverse Russian inscription translates to: "Labour in the USSR-A Matter of Honour".
