History

The Medal of Honour for Customs Agents was established by Decree on October 1, 1999. It is awarded to Burnakibé customs agents for long and faithful service, exceptional merit, and acts of bravery.

It is awarded under regular circumstances for 15 years of service, or 10 years of service with 2 letters of congratulations. It may be awarded under exceptional title to customs agents with 5 years of service and a minimum of 4 letters of congratulations, to foreigners, or to those who have incurred an injury during service. It may also be awarded posthumously to those who died as a result of an act of bravery performed while on duty.

The obverse inscription translates to “Medal of Honour for Customs, Honour, Devotion, Vigilance,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Burkina Faso, Unity, Progress, Justice.”
