History


The Medal of Valour is awarded to members of law enforcement organisations in Cameroon, including the Armed Forces, the Gendarmerie, and the police forces, in recognition of acts of bravery performed on duty, during combat, or in the maintenance of public order. It may also be awarded posthumously, or to entire military units.

The medal is worn with a gilt palm clasp when awarded at the national level, with a silvered palm clasp when awarded to members of national organisations, and with a bronze palm clasp when awarded to members of the Cameroonian Armed Forces or the police.

There may be additional versions that vary in inscription.
