The Order of Agricultural Merit is conferred upon Cameroonian citizens in recognition of at least 10 years of meritorious service rendered to agriculture in Cameroon, including farming, public policy, and scientific research. All members are required to be at least 25 years old. The Order may also be conferred upon foreigners, but only under exceptional circumstances.
The President of the Republic of Cameroon is Grand Master.
Knights must serve a minimum of 5 years before they can be promoted to Officers.
There are at least three versions of the Order which vary in inscription.
