The Order of Industrial and Artisanal Merit is conferred upon Central Africans in recognition of contributions to the economic development of the nation. The President is the Grand Master of the Order.

All members of are received as Knights. Promotion to a higher grade may only be made after 5 years spent in the lower grade accompanied by new contributions.

There is an annual limit of 10 Commanders. The obverse inscription translates to "Industrial and Artisanal Merit," and features an abbreviation that stands for "Republique Centrafricain" (Central African Republic). The reverse inscription translates to "Unity, Dignity, Labour."
