History

This Medal was established by Emperor Haile Selassie I in 1959. It was conferred upon all Ethiopian military personnel who served in the Ethiopian contingent in the Korean War.

The reverse features an Amharic inscription that can be translated to "We support every nation's independence but we are always the enemies of aggression, Korea 1943." The date refers to the Ethiopian calendar, and not to the Western calendar.
