The Order of Health Merit is conferred upon Malian citizens who have displayed devotion and selflessness in services rendered to health care and social services in Mali over a span of at least 10 years. It may also be conferred upon foreigners, but only under exceptional circumstances. The President is the Grand Master.

Knights may be promoted to Officer after 8 years, and Officers may be promoted to Commander after 4 years.

The obverse inscription translates to “Order of Health.” The reverse features initials that stand for “République du Mali” (Republic of Mali) and an inscription that translates to “One People, One Goal, One Faith.”
