History


The Army Combat Cross was established by the Brazilian government in 1944 to recognize Brazilian military personnel who had displayed acts of valor during the Second World War.

The Cross was authorized with two classes. I Class Cross was awarded for individual or units acts of heroism and valor. It was awarded to units as well for significant victories. II Class Cross was granted to units in recognition of exceptional services.

The class is inscribed on the reverse of the Cross.
