History

The Medal of the Pacifier Duke of Caxias was awarded to recognize military personnel and civilians who have rendered outstanding services to the Brazilian Armed Forces by assisting in peaceable and strengthening relationships between the Armed Forces and allied nations.

The bronze medal was later established to honour Officers, other military personnel, civilians and institutions, for 15 years or more of active service in the Armed Forces.
