History

The Order of Aeronautical Merit (Orden al Mérito Aeronáutico) was instituted in Ecuador on October 31, 1958. It is conferred upon national and foreign citizens, and military personnel, in recognition of extraordinary services within the field of aviation and within Ecuadorean air force.

The Order's grades are Grand Cross, Commander, and Knight.
