History

The Medal for the Whitelocke Army Surrender (Medalla por la Rendición del Ejército de Whitelocke) was established by the Spanish Crown in recognition of the military personnel who participated in the defense of Buenos Aires against the British Army commanded by Lieutenant Whitelocke who surrendered unconditionally in 1807.

The Medal has two grades, i..e., Gold Medal, and Silver Medal; however, it is uncertain if the composition of the Medal denotes the rank of the recipient.
