The Order of Commercial Merit (Orden del Mérito Comercial) was established by decree on August 14, 1979, and was regulated in 1984 and again in 2012. It was founded to commemorate nationals and foreigners individuals, and institutions, in recognition of meritorious service to the development of the national economy.

The Order consists of Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Officer, and Knight.

The badge features the grade name on the reverse.
