The Order of Cecilio Acosta was established in Venezuela in 1971 by the Province of Miranda, to reward nationals and foreigners, as well as institutions, in recognition of their outstanding and meritorious services rendered to the state or national community.

The Order consists of three grades: I Class Gold Medal, II Class silver Medal, and III Class Bronze Medals. The Order has no breast star.

I Class Gold Medal is wore on a pink neck ribbon, while II Class and III Class are wore on a green neck ribbon.
