The Order of José Félix Ribas was established in Venezuela on July 28, 1987. It is awarded to recognition and encourage young citizens for their efforts and extraordinary participation within the fields of culture, arts, sports, scientific research, technology, education, and conservation.

The Order consists of three grades: I Class Gold Medal, II Class Silver Medal, and III Class Bronze Medal. The Order has no breast star.

The I Class Gold Medal is awarded with a red ribbon, and it is awarded for international relevance achievements.

The Order was named after José Félix Ribas (1775-1815) who was a hero of the Venezuelan War of Independence.
