The Order of Rodolfo Robles was instituted in Guatemala on December 2, 1955. The Order is named after Dr. Rodolfo Robles (1878–1939) who was a distinguished Guatemalan physician and philanthropist. He identified and found the cure for the parasite that causes filariasis.

This Order is the highest medical award in the country. It is conferred upon Guatemalan and foreign physicians in recognition of extraordinary services in the field of public health.

The Order is awarded with three classes; I Class, II Class, and III Class.
