History


The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Meritorious Service Decoration is awarded by the Governor General to Defence Force members who distinguish themselves by providing exceptional service to the Bahamas, marked by high achievement, ability, and conduct.

The obverse of the medal features a side view of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, inscribed with “ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. F-D”. The reverse is inscribed with “FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE RBDF”. The name, rank, and initials of the recipient are engraved on the medal. Two clasps adorn the ribbon, one inscribed with “THE BAHAMAS”, and one bearing the name of the campaign.
