The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Traumatic Service Decoration is awarded to Defence Force personnel who have been wounded or killed while serving for the Bahamas against enemy forces. The Decoration is awarded by the Governor General on behalf of the Minister and Commander.

The obverse of the circular medal features a purple heart and cross, surrounded by a gold ribbon, with the inscription “TRAUMATIC SERVICE”. The gold, black, and aquamarine ribbon features two clasps; one inscribed with “THE BAHAMAS”, and other with the name of the campaign. The name, rank, and initials of the recipient are also engraved on the medal.
