The Royal Bahamas Police Gallantry Medal is presented to members of the Force who performed courageous acts under dangerous circumstances.

The award is made and presented immediately following the act of bravery and may be presented to individuals both living and posthumously.

The obverse of the Medal features the Coat of Arms of The Bahamas, while the reverse features the inscription "FOR GALLANTRY ROYAL BAHAMAS POLICE FORCE". The name and rank of the recipient is inscribed on the rim. A clasp is awarded for any further acts of gallantry, and the Medal is worn on the left breast.
