History

The Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal was instituted on July 7, 2994. The medal recognizes pre-hospital emergency medical service professionals who have performed their duties with efficiency and dedication and served the public in an exemplary manner.

Eligible recipients must have completed 20 years of service in good conduct, including a minimum of 10 years of service involving potential risk.

The obverse features the Star of Life and is inscribed with [EXEMPLARY SERVICE. SERVICES DISTINGUÉS]. The reverse features the Royal Cipher [EIIR].

Bars with a maple leaf may be conferred to recognize subsequent periods of 10 years serving with emergency medical services.
